Women's Ministry
Who Are We?
We are the B.A.D. girls of ECC ~ radically Bold And Devoted to the One who made us free.
How are we Devoted?
Our ministry is devoted to the creation and feeding of small groups and activities which are filled with and facilitated by ordinary women. We are striving together to face the reality of life in extraordinary, practical and realistic ways through the Word of God and the example of Christ.
How are we Bold?
We are bold in bravely proclaiming the truth that our healing and our hope comes from Jesus Christ. We will boldly take the healing we receive in small groups and in our activities together and reach out to bring the hurting, lost and lonely into a healthy faith community. We will not wait to reach others for Christ until we are fully healed or “good girls” because the reality is, good girls don’t exist, only B.A.D. ones redeemed by Christ’s blood. Yes, we are B.A.D. ~ radically B.A.D. ~ but we will press on and do good in our B.A.D.ness and bring hope to other B.A.D. girls along the way!
We are the B.A.D. girls of ECC!
Will you learn to find radical hope in your B.A.D.ness with us? What have you got to lose? For more information, contact Kat Silverglate at badgirlsofecc@aol.com.
We’re making 2008 a Reality Summer!

What is a Reality Summer?
The B.A.D. Girls of ECC are learning about healing and isolation. We are learning that if we focus on our own hurts and pain in isolation, our healing can be slow or non-existent. But if we surround ourselves with Godly women, and we face our reality with other women who are willing to get on their knees in prayer, who are willing to search the Word of God for answers, who are willing to receive others and their B.A.D.ness without judgment or condemnation (as Christ did!), then healing can exponentially occur.
What is a Reality Group?
What is a Reality Group? A Reality Group is simply a group of women who agree to face their reality through scripture. A Reality Group is a group of women, all broken in some way, willing to take one woman each week, make her reality the topic of prayer, scriptural search and small group discussion and surround that reality with Godly solutions.
Give Me An Example?
Let’s say your issue is worry. You’ve prayed about it. You’ve tried to handle it on your own. It is your thorn and no matter what you’ve done, it hasn’t gone away. You don’t know what else to do. You’ve tried everything you can think of. So, you say to the group, I’m ready to let others help me face this reality through Scripture. For one week, the women in your group pray for you, search Scripture about this topic, search Godly resources about this topic, they send you cards and notes of encouragement, they get on your side against your sin or pain. At the end of the week, the small group discusses what they’ve found.
What This is NOT:
This is not therapy or a substitute for therapy. We are not therapists or medical professionals. We are ordinary women seeking answers through scripture helping each other along the way.
Do You Need to Attend ECC to Attend a Group?
No. Come as you are.
When Can I Join?
Anytime! We will be doing this from June 1-August 15. Join anytime. Don’t worry if a group has already started. To get healed, you’ve got to get real. Don’t do it alone. Let’s do it together.
What if I’m Going to be on Vacation?
That’s the beauty of this structure. Some women will be out and some women will be in town. But once you’ve had the powerful experience of women surrounding you in your pain, you will want to give that gift to the other women in your group. It’s contagious. And it grows us when we minister in an area where we don’t suffer. It makes us realize that our hurts are just different. That we aren’t alone, or weird or different. We’re all B.A.D. in some way. It’s why we need a Savior.
